Homelessness is a downward spiral, and on the increase nationally. The longer a person is on the streets, the greater the risk of abuse, drug and alcohol misuse, decline in mental health and isolation. This can lead to increased rates of suicide. We believe, as followers of Jesus, we should be at the forefront of social change, offering the practical support, guidance and quality signposting that homeless people need in order to reach their full potential.

However, providing that support is complex and difficult at times. Churches are often ill-equipped to deal with the reality of homelessness and the task can seem overwhelming.
Homeless Pastors exist to equip churches and charities to better serve the needs of the homeless by providing in-depth, practical training - so enabling those on the margins to find a supportive community and begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
